BURGLARY TURNS INTO HIGH SPEED CHASE STARTING ON HIGHWAY 68

A burglary in progress on Highway 127 South turned into a high speed pursuit in Cumberland County last week. The report released today indicates 45-year-old James Lee Moulder fled the residence in a vehicle and picked up two females. The automobile was seen by authorities on Highway 68 near Sawmill Road. Moulder accelerated reaching speeds of up to 110 miles per hour and once he temporarily lost sight of officers, he dropped the two women off. The chase then went on Alloway Road towards Possum Trot Road. It ended in Rhea County on Big Neck Road where Moulder crashed in a wood line. He was arrested after found hiding in a creek bed. Moulder was wanted on outstanding warrants in Cumberland and Rhea County. He was additionally charged with possession of meth, burglary, driving on a revoked license and two counts of evading arrest.

One of the female involved, 45-year-old Tracy Annette Reed of Grandview, was later located and taken into custody for burglary and evading arrest.

At the time of the report being filed, the second was not located.
