CAR DISSAPPEARS FROM DRIVEWAY, LATER FOUND BY A RIVER ON FIRE
Today, Deputy Ethan Wilson responded to Clifty River for an apparent vehicle fire.
Upon arriving, Wilson spoke with the caller who had been camping down by the river and was woken up by a blaring car horn and a car on fire by the river.
Deputies Tollett and Wilson walked located the vehicle down the trail, and found a vehicle tag lying on the ground.
The tag returned to the vehicle owner, and later Deputy Wilson used the information to make contact with them. The owner said she had let her son and his girlfriend borrow her vehicle.
Wilson then made contact with the son and his girlfriend only for them to state the last time they saw the vehicle was around midnight and it was sitting in the driveway.
The deputy asked them if anyone else had been at their residence that night, but both stated no.
The girlfriend showed she had the key to the vehicle, and said it was the only key to the vehicle. However, Wilson observed the key to be just a fob and was for a push button start vehicle.
Investigator Human was notified and notified to do a stolen vehicle report, and he would speak with the couple at a later date.
No suspects mentioned as of now.
