CHAIN REACTION CRASH ON I-40 EB IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY TUESDAY
TheTennessee Highway Patrol has released the report on a tractor-trailer vs. private vehicle accident that took place Tuesday morning on eastbound I-40 in Cumberland County. The incident involved two crashes. The first crash took place when the driver of a semi, lost control, running off the left side of the roadway and into the median, tipping on its side. THP says that people began pulling over onto the shoulder to check on the driver when a Toyota Scion, driven by Jacob Byrge, slowed for safety. Another rig, driven by Julion Rojas,traveling behind Byrge, was unable to react, striking the rear of the Scion. The Scion was pushed into a dirt embankment into the median when the second semi also went off into the median and jack-knifing into the embankment. Rojas received only minor injuries and was taken to Cumberland Medical Center.
