A call has been sent out to artists to design a lasting memorial to honor the five servicemen who were shot down in Chattanooga in 2015. On July 16^th 2015, four Marines and one Naval man was shot down as an assassin opened fire at a multi-military recruiting center in the city and then drove to a nearby Naval installation where the assault was continued. City Officials have decided to install a new memorial near the Naval Operations Support Center where the shootings took place.
