CITY COUNCIL LOOKING AT CHANGES TO RECREATION SITES AT CITY PARK

The Crossville City Council is looking at making some possible changes to recreational activities at Centennial Park. At last nights meeting, Pamela Harris made a recommendation for a new tennis court with lighting to be constructed where the old tennis courts could be divided into pickleball courts. Pickleball combines badminton, tennis and table tennis. Players use paddles to hit a perforated ball, like a wiffle ball, over a net. Instead, another recommendation was made to construct a new basketball court and use the old basketball court for the pickleball area. That suggestion would save the current tennis courts at the park. The matter will be discussed further at a later time.
