CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS DOWNTOWN SIDEWALKS AT APRIL 11 MEETING
The Crossville City Council will conduct their regular April monthly meeting Tuesday. There are several items on the agenda. One of the items the council will discuss is the downtown sidewalk situation. City Manager Greg Wood reported last week that the city has received the permit from the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation to begin work on upgrading the sidewalks from Meacham St. to Lantana Rd. to the tune of $1.4 million. This includes bringing the sidewalks up to ADA standards. City Mayor James Mayberry stated that he wished the work would begin, but there were still concerns about hiring out the project. Wood reminded the council that a city crew was created for this specific purpose. He said that he recommended the crew begin working on the sidewalks and see how it goes. Members agreed to the recommendation. The city council meeting will begin at 6 PM.
