The City of Harriman is looking to upgrade its interchanges and is also considering lighting improvements. At a planning session held earlier this week, officials said that plans are underway to receive funding for interchange lighting at exit 347. Options are being weighed as requests have been submitted for funding from the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation. City Manager Kevin Helms told the city council that an analysis of the situation would be needed but that basically, it would entail supplementing the taller lights with lights closer to the ramp. Upgrades are also planned for signalization to be replaced at the exit ramp and for downtown lighting.
