Following a string of recent vandalism incidents targeting public restrooms and amenities along the lakefront, the City of Kingston has announced a strict zero-tolerance policy for property damage.

In a social media statement over the weekend, city officials declared that anyone caught vandalizing public spaces will face immediate legal consequences with “no warnings, no exceptions.” Violators will be cited and charged in either General Sessions or Juvenile Court.

In addition to criminal charges, offenders will face a mandatory one-year ban from all city parks.

Officials emphasized that Kingston’s parks and recreational facilities are funded by local taxpayers for the benefit of the entire community, and the destruction of these public amenities will no longer be tolerated.

The city is calling on the community for assistance, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or vandalism directly to local authorities to protect Kingston’s shared spaces.
