State and federal authorities were at the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office yesterday to conduct a raid. Claiborne County Mayor Jack Daniels released a statement today regarding the raid. Daniels said agents picked up financial records from the finance office and sheriff’s department as part of an investigation. Daniels added there have been no charges made against anyone at this time and the operation of Claiborne County government has not been compromised or affected in any way. No other information was available regarding the nature of the investigation.
