Clyde Alvin Billings, Sr., age 82, formerly of Rockwood, passed away January 29, 2018. He is survived by sons: Clyde Alvin Billings, Jr. and William Michael Billings, Sr.; former wife: Jean Gilmer Billings; grandchildren: Christine Billings, Lindsay Billings, William Michael Billings, Jr., and Taylor B. Vanlandingham; and great-grandchildren: Hayden Kivett, Audrey and Lucy Billings Harley Michael and Jasper Lee Vanlandingham, and on the way Lillian Karilee Vandlandingham. The family would like to thank Twilla Bullard and Crystal Bell for their loving care while Clyde was being cared for at home. A very special thank you to Brother Mark Kolada, Executive Director of WhiteStone: A Masonic and Eastern Star Community and his staff for their extraordinary care of Clyde during his final ride. To all the friends and family who shared their love and support during these years, we can never thank you or love you enough. A visitation will be from 2 to 3:45 PM Friday, February 2, 2018 followed by a funeral service at 4 PM in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in North Carolina. Clyde Alvin (as he was known in Rockwood) will be taken home for burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood with Masonic Rites at 2 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018.
