On January 29, 2026, a follow-up food service establishment inspection at Las Margaritas, located at 72 Woodmere Mall in Crossville, Tennessee, resulted in a score of 79.

Several critical and non-critical violations were observed. Key issues included a server handling tortillas with bare hands on ready-to-eat food (violation 7), an employee wiping gloved hands on a dirty apron before touching food (violation 13), and a dirty boiling pot containing cobwebs and bugs stored as clean (violation 14).

Additional concerns involved a live roach on a prep table (violation 36), uncovered stuffed peppers in the reach-in freezer (violation 37), a wet wiping cloth left out on the prep table without sanitizer (violation 39), black buildup and ice accumulation on the prep cooler’s condenser (violation 47), generally dirty and hard-to-clean kitchen floors (violation 53), and personal items such as a cell phone, cup, pens, and tape improperly stored on food equipment or non-designated areas (violation 54).

Corrective actions were taken, including employee education on no bare-hand contact and proper glove use, as well as instructions for the person in charge to clean and sanitize affected items.

Many core food safety areas, such as handwashing, food sourcing, temperature controls, and management knowledge, remained compliant, but the presence of pests, contamination risks, and facility maintenance issues contributed to the below-perfect score.

No additional comments were noted in the report.

They have since had a reinspection, with a score of 93.
