COMMUNITY TREE ASSESSMENT PLANTING TO START

The City of Crossville, in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry, will commence a community tree assessment planting project. Beginning November 2017, tree work will begin along Main Street between the Neecham and Chestnut intersections. This project is part of a Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) grant with the goal to increase canopy cover and biodiversity provided by trees. The other locations for this project will be taking place at Crossville City Hall, Meadow Park Lake, and Centennial Park. The TAEP grant was submitted with the help of the city’s urban forester, Seth Harrison. His position has been funded with help from USDA Forest Service and Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns about this project or forestry at home, you can contact Seth Harrison at (931) 456-5682.
