CONSERVATION FIELD DAY SET IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

The Cumberland County Soil Conservation District (SCD) will be having a Conservation Field Day Thursday, September 13, 2018. It will be held at Hit-n-Miss Farm, owned by Kenny and Lynn Carey and will start at 5 p.m. central.

Speakers will include Brad Burkett, Soil Conservation Technician with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service who will discuss pasture management and rotational grazing. USDA NRCS District Conservationist Jake Watson will discuss stockpiling forages, soil health and guidelines of the current cost-share programs.

Additional sponsors for this event include the Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) Water Resources, TDA Agricultural Enhancement Program, and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

A meal will be served at the conclusion of the presentations and reservations are requested so an adequate amount of food can be prepared.
