Construction of a truck climbing lane on I-40 in eastern Cumberland County is progressing. The lane is eastbound near mile marker 339. Work includes grading, drainage, and paving. Construction signs, guardrail, and a portable barrier rail have been installed. Motorists are encouraged to slow down, use caution, and be aware of construction personnel in the work zone and equipment that will entering/exiting the roadway. The estimated project completion date is June 2020.
