Cumberland County deputies stopped a vehicle around 1 a.m. this morning on the 1000 block of West Avenue after learning the driver had a warrant out of Putnam County. A consent search of the automobile allegedly revealed a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun. Officers charged 35-year-old Stephen Joseph Atilano of Crossville with driving on a suspended license and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Atilano was previously convicted in Texas on a drug offense.
