CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED AGAIN
A sex offender very familiar to Cumberland County deputies was arrested again Tuesday night. Police stopped Willie Ashton Dyal at I-40 at Peavine Road for a registration violation. When asked if he had anything illegal on him, Dyal reported reached into his pocket and handed the officer a glass pipe burnt at both ends believed to be used to smoke meth. Dyal was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license. The sheriff’s office says this makes the 25th time (all adult offenses) the 29-year-old Dyal has been booked into the jail on charges ranging from aggravated burglary to rape of a child. He was ordered onto the state sex offender registry and classified as violent against children following his 2012 conviction of criminal attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery.
