Early this morning just after 5 a.m, a Roane County deputy was dispatched to a report of suspicious activity on Swan Pond Road. The officer encountered 27-year-old Derek Dewayne Cook who was pushing 24-year-old Bobbie Forrester in a type of wheelchair down the road. Cook apparently started to run but the officer went for his taser and Cook stopped. A check revealed four outstanding warrants. A search not only revealed hypodermic needles and a digital scale but Roane Medical Center informed law enforcement that neither had permission to take the wheelchair after Forrester was seen there. Also allegedly found in their possession was items belonging to the emergency room. Both were charged with theft.
