COOKEVILLE MAN ACC– USED OF RAPING A CHILD ARRESTED AND HELD ON $1,000,000 BOND
A Cookeville man is accused of raping a child under the age of 13. Landon Paul Powers, 31, is now behind bars in Putnam County. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation started after a child underwent a medical exam and a sample of evidence matched Powers’ DNA. The sheriff’s office said Powers had submitted his DNA to a national database as a result of a 1996 criminal conviction. Powers had listed his residence as “homeless,” but a previous address was listed at Springdale Drive in Cookeville.
Powers is being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
