The Roane County Commission this week recognized the 2020 Firefighters of the Year. Officials say they have amazing men and women who have the heart and passion to serve their communities. They sacrifice so much to just give back to their community and help save lives no matter the time of day.

Recipients include:

Levi Laymance – Blair Volunteer Fire Department

Timothy Barringer – East Roane County Volunteer Fire Department

Kellen Mee – Midtown First District Volunteer Fire Department

Michael Watson – South Roane County Volunteer Fire Department

Matt Covington – West Roane County Volunteer Fire Department

Lisa Crawley – Roane County Office of Emergency Services
