COUNTY COMMISSION TO CONSIDER RESTAURANT PRIVILEGE TAX RESOLUTION
The Cumberland County Commission tonight (Monday, August 20, 2018) will consider a resolution for state lawmakers to give the county permission to enact a 1 percent restaurant privilege tax. If approved by the state, the additional money would assist in the construction and operations of the planned Cumberland County Expo Center. If the resolution is approved by the county commission tonight, the request would not be heard in Nashville until January 2019. If accepted, the tax would not go into effect in Cumberland County until at least July 2019. The meeting starts at 6 pm in the old courthouse in Crossville and the public is welcomed to attend.
