COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO HOUSE FIRE IN CRAB ORCHARD

A house fire occurred last night on Smith Mountain Rd in Crab Orchard. County firefighters got the call just after 10 PM.
The small house was fully engulfed in flames by the time county firefighters arrived. A neighbor was safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters used 2,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. A representative with the Cumberland County Fire Department said the homeowner has a place to stay with friends.
Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown, as the building was burned all the way down to the foundation, and likely took any plausible cause for the fire down with it.
