COURT DATE SET FOR CUMBERLAND CO. MAN CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER
A court date is now set for a Cumberland County man charged with the death of his aunt. Officers responded to a shooting on Neverfail Road just west of Pleasant Hill yesterday and found 55-year-old Teresa Faye Austin dead from a gunshot wound. Officers took 37-year-old Stacey Dwight Austin into custody for voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He was taken to jail and placed under $1 million bond. A motive for the shooting was not released. Court officials told 105.7 News this afternoon Austin’s first court appearance is set for July 2 in general sessions.
