A regional judge has been honored by his peers for his work as being an advocate for the prevention of child abuse. Tuesday night, Criminal Court Judge Gary McKenzie was presented with the “Book of Golden Deeds” Award from the Lake Tansi Exchange Club. Several friends and colleagues spoke at the ceremony, including Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox and former District Attorney Randy York, whom McKenzie worked with as a deputy district attorney. The Exchange Club is dedicated to the eradication of child abuse.
