CROSSVILLE AND CUMBERLAND COUNTY AUTHORITIES OFFER “SAFE RIDES HOME” FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE
In an effort to better serve the community and keep roadways safe for motorists, the City of Crossville Police Department, along with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and E911, will be participating in a Safe Ride Home program this New Year’s Eve. If you have been celebrating the New Year and would like a FREE, No-Questions-Asked, Safe Ride Home, just call 911, from 10 PM Dec. 31 to 4AM Jan. 1, to speak with emergency operators, who will be standing by, to help you stay safe. The City of Crossville Police Department will provide a Safe Ride Home to anyone who lives inside the City of Crossville, up to 1 mile outside of the City limits. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will do the same for the residents of Cumberland County. Police Chief Mark Rosser says “These Safe Rides Home will be just that, a safe ride home. We will not be giving rides to people who are going from one party to another. Our goal is to get folks home safely and to prevent drunk driving crashes and the countless ruined lives they can cause.”
