CROSSVILLE AUTO DEALERSHIP HAS 7 — USED VEHICLES STOLEN
A Crossville automobile dealership is reporting that seven used cars have been stolen. Police were called to East Tennessee Dodge Tuesday where an employee explained that after an inventory was completed on March 1, it was discovered that seven used cars and trucks were missing from the lot. Those vehicles were listed as a 2004 Toyota Echo, 2015 Chrysler 300, 1998 Lincoln Continental, 2008 Chevy Silverado, 2002 Volkswagen Beetle, 2013 Chrysler Fuego and a 2016 Dodge Ram. Officers were told that an employee named William Bankston had been allowing vehicles to be driven by unknown subjects. The seven vehicles listed had never been returned. Bankston also allegedly accepted cash down payments for vehicles, totaling $4800 that had never been turned in. Also missing in the incident are five Tennessee dealer tags and 26 temporary tags. The investigation is ongoing.
