CROSSVILLE BAIL BONDSMAN INVOLVED IN VIOLENT INCIDENT FRIDAY

A Crossville bail bondsman is recovering after he was involved in a violent episode Friday. According to police, Jim Howe was attempting a fugitive recovery action on 25-year-old Christian Bilbrey. Bilbrey drove into a parking lot on Burnett St. when Howe spotted the vehicle, and in an alleged attempt to flee from Howe, Bilbrey struck a vehicle. Howe then jumped onto the hood of Bilbrey’s vehicle with the suspect allegedly refusing to stop. As Howe was flung from the car, Bilbrey fled the scene. She was later stopped on Interstate 40 by highway patrol troopers and taken into custody. She was then charged with aggravated assault, and felony reckless endangerment. She faces additional charges from the THP.
