CROSSVILLE POLICE BUST SUBJECT WITH MARIJUANA PACKED FOR RESALE

Last week Crossville Police charged a man with manufacture/delivery/sale of a controlled substance after a traffic stop. Officers were notified of a red pickup truck driving erratically on Sparta Highway. The vehicle was stopped, and during contact with the driver, 51-year old Grover Lee Potter, officers reportedly smelled alcohol. Potter denied that he’d had a drink but said that he was diabetic. EMS was summoned but during that time, Potter allegedly threw a marijuana cigarette out of the truck. Potter’s blood-sugar checked out fine and he refused to perform a sobriety test. A search of the vehicle turned up more burned marijuana cigarettes, and several baggies of the illegal drug were found packed for resale. A total of 8 bags were found weighing approximately 1.6 ounces. Potter’s truck and $180 in cash were seized while Potter was taken into custody.
