CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL HOLDS JUNE MONTHLY MEETING TUESDAY
The Crossville City Council will be holding their June monthly meeting Tuesday evening which will include the second reading of the city’s proposed 2017-18 budget and tax rate. The first reading, in title only, took place at a special-called meeting last week. A public hearing on the new budget will be held beginning at 5:30 PM Tuesday with the third and final reading expecting to come at a special-called meeting later this month. This year is a reappraisal year which means that the state will certify a new tax rate. The budget, which has not been finalized, is around $2 million in the red and is expected to be balanced by dipping into the city’s year-end fund balance. The regular meeting begins at 6 PM at City Hall.
