CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO CONSIDER DISBANDING PALACE ADVISORY BOARD

The Crossville City Council is considering disbanding the Palace Theater Advisory Board and will vote on the issue on Tuesday next week. This board was originally created to help with the management of the Palace Theatre once the City of Crossville began operating it.
“It’s just not meeting, there is no purpose at this point,” said Crossville City Manager Valerie Hale.
“Hypothetically, if were to disband this board, then that would eliminate the requirement for me or a council member to have a representative on this board?” asked Mayor RJ Crawford.
“Yes,” Hale confirmed.
The board is not currently active, having had their last meeting more than six months ago, and with most dealings with the board taking place over email. It is not required by Charter or ordinance.
Should the board continue to operate, an appointment would need to be made by Councilmembers Mark Fox and James Mayberry.
