ROANE COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO BROWNLOW DRIVE FIRE

Last night, numerous fire agencies from across the county were sent to a major structure fire in Rockwood on Brownlow Drive off of New Hope Road. The call came in after 8:00 p.m. and as the first units arrived on the scene they noticed heavy smoke coming from the structure, and an attack was immediately put on the fire.
With the assistance of other units arriving in extremely cold weather, they were able to knock down most of the fire within an hour and a half. Chad Goodman, fire chief of West Roane County, appreciated all the support from all the numerous agencies including South Roane County, East Roane County, Blair Volunteer Fire Department, and Midtown who assisted.
The fire was deemed under control around 11:15 last night and no injuries were reported. Also, the rescue squad came to assist with hot drinks and food for the firefighters.
