CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS MUNICIPAL JUDGE VACANCY

The Crossville City Council will hold a special meeting this Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2023) to discuss a vacancy for a municipal judge.

The meeting will be held in conference room 317 at Crossville City Hall.

In a letter dated September 12, 2023, to Crossville Mayor R.J. Crawford, Ivy Gardner Mayberry formally resigned as municipal court judge and administrative hearing officer.

She stated in the letter her career goals have changed over the past several years, and she feels the time has come for her to pursue another opportunity.

City officials have already put out a notice seeking attorneys to apply for the vacancy:

“The City of Crossville intends to secure a highly qualified and experienced attorney to serve as Municipal Court Judge and Administrative Hearing Officer. The annual salary for this position is $20,000 and includes the opportunity to enroll in the City of Crossville’s health insurance coverage. The Crossville City Council appoints the Municipal Court Judge to serve a two-year term, with the option to renew each term. Letters of interest, with qualifications attached, from attorneys wishing to serve in the capacity of Municipal Court Judge and Administrative Hearing Officer will be received by Leah Crockett, Human Resources Manager, Crossville City Hall, 392 N. Main Street, Crossville, Tennessee 38555. The deadline to submit letters will be 4 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023.”
