CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD 2 SPECIAL-CALLED MEETINGS TUESDAY

The Crossville City Council will hold two special-called meetings this afternoon. The special-called meetings will precede a work session that the council has also scheduled. According to the memo, the first meeting was called by Council Members JH Graham and Pamela Harris and will regard the recent contract between The City and the non-profit group, Crossville Shooting Park Inc. The contract was inked between the two entities in February and turns over a piece of city property on Albert Frye Rd. to the non-profit for the construction of a shooting sports park. However, it recently came to the council’s attention that residents in that area are complaining that the park will disturb their “quality of life”, and they have approached the council to re-think the contract in hopes of finding a different location for the park. This first meeting will concern a discussion and possible rescindment of the contract. The second special-called concerns a few items on the consent agenda to undergo second and third readings. The only other item pertains to the rehiring of retirees, a subject that the council has been looking into for the last few weeks. A work session will immediately follow the meeting. The only item on the agenda is a review of a three-year capital improvement plan which will be handled by City manager Greg Wood. The first special-called meeting is scheduled to be held at 4:50 PM, with the second meeting at 5. The work session is scheduled to follow at 5:15.
