CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL TRANSFERS PROPERTY FOR SHOOTING SPORTS PARK
Tuesday, the Crossville City Council elected to transfer property to the county for the construction of a proposed shooting sports park. The designated property is located near the old landfill on Albert Frye Rd. City Attorney William Ridley presented the county with a final contract which negotiated the deal with the county. The proposed park would be built using a $2.2 million grant from the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, and would be run by a non-profit group. Council Member Danny Wyatt made the motion to transfer the property with the stipulation that if funding for the project is not secured by Dec. 31, 2017, the property would revert back to the city. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
