CROSSVILLE LUMBER YARD FIRE DETERMINED TO BE ACCIDENTAL
According to fire officials, the cause of last Friday’s fire at Mullins Oak Lumber Yard in Crossville was determined accidental in nature. Cumberland County Fire Chief Trevor Kerley has said that the fire started in an area of the shop where workers had been welding earlier that day. It’s suspected that wind probably fanned embers in the sawdust to flame because that’s the area where the fire was centered. Both Crossville and County fire crews battled the blaze which destroyed the 7200 foot building. The damage estimate for the structure and contents was $325,000.
