CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING A WOMAN AND THROWING A MAN INTO FIREPLACE

According to a report by the Crossville Police, on April 8, 2026, officers from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, including Sgt. J. Henson and Ptl. Nathan Ramson, responded to  Davidson Court after a report of an unresponsive male and another male fleeing the residence toward Highway 70 East. Witnesses directed the officers to a wooded area where they located Jamie Davidson. Despite loud verbal commands to show his hands and come out, Jamie Davidson refused to comply, cursed at the officers with slurred speech, and resisted multiple attempts to take him into custody. Officers initially drew their duty weapons, then switched to tasers as less-lethal options. After repeated non-compliance, they used soft-hand tactics and physical force, eventually subduing Jamie Davidson with assistance from Deputy Alderman and Sgt. Brandon Griffin, and placing him in handcuffs.

During a search of Jamie Davidson’s person before placing him in the patrol vehicle, officers discovered a used syringe in his shorts pocket. He was unsteady on his feet and had to be assisted/carried into the vehicle. Once inside, he began kicking the rear windows, prompting officers to remove him, apply leg restraints, and secure him again.

Meanwhile, other deputies entered the residence and found a male victim lying on the floor, responsive but unable to move from the neck down. He was transported by EMS to UT Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment of his injuries.

A female witness reported that she had returned home from shopping to find Jamie Davidson acting erratically and destroying property inside the residence. She stated that Jamie Davidson punched her in the face, causing a small laceration, then picked up the male victim and threw him headfirst into the fireplace before fleeing. Lt. Dustin Lester assisted with domestic violence paperwork. Jamie Davidson was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center, where he was served with warrants for aggravated assault, domestic assault, public intoxication, and resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest, or search.

The following day, April 9, 2026, Sgt. J. Henson contacted UT Medical Center and was informed that the male victim remained in the emergency room under medical care.

The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.
