CROSSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY, VANDALISM, DRUG CHARGES

Shortly before midnight Sunday, Cumberland County deputies were called to Cumberland Mountain Market for a report of a burglar alarm going off. Deputies found the front glass door broken. Surveillance footage showed a dark-colored older-model Ford Explorer approaching with its lights off. Two men got out and broke the glass door with a rock. One of the two, wearing a black hat with bright-green markings on it, broke into the cash register, removed the drawer and put it into the vehicle. The other suspect broke the front glass of a coin pusher machine and took the money from the machine. Two hours later, deputies observed the subject vehicle on Lantana Road and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Terence Mitchell Vallin, was wearing a black hat with bright-green markings. Vallin admitted he had meth and a pipe in the vehicle. When asked where his accomplice was, Vallin reportedly said he wasn’t going to rat on anyone. Vallin was taken to Cumberland County jail and charged with burglary, vandalism, manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was initially placed under $18,000 bond.
