A Crossville man lost his life in a single vehicle accident this morning in Cumberland County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol, firefighters and medical first responders went to Interstate 40 two miles east of the Plateau Road exit where the crash took place. Trooper Nick Neal says a 1998 GMC truck driven by 71-year-old Daniel C. Murphy was heading eastbound on Interstate 40 when he went off the road on the left side, overcorrected, then crossed over the interstate and rolled over several times coming to rest in a ditch. Murphy was ejected from the vehicle that came to rest on its wheels facing east in the ditch. Trooper Neal says Murphy was not restrained at the time of the accident.
