CROSSVILLE MAN FINDS ATTEMPTED $2,700 FRAUDULENT LOAN THROUGH CREDIT KARMA

On May 24, 2025, Deputy Elijah Tollett of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fraud report at a home on Brewer Road in Crossville involving a 29-year-old resident. The man said he discovered a “hard inquiry” on his credit report through Credit Karma, dated May 21, 2025, indicating an unauthorized attempt to secure a $2,700 loan from NetCredit in his name.
Although the loan was denied, an account number was created during the attempt. The victim contacted the credit bureau to investigate and requested a sheriff’s report to provide to them.
Currently, no suspects have been identified or arrested.
