CROSSVILLE MAN KILLED IN WARREN COUNTY AMBULANCE CRASH

A Crossville man was killed in an ambulance crash in Warren County late yesterday afternoon on Highway 70 near Rock Island. The report states a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Carol Simpson struck the side of the ambulance after failing to yield right of way. The impact caused the ambulance to spin and strike a guardrail before coming to a final rest on its top. A patient inside the ambulance, 60-year-old Clifton Harville of Crossville, died. The driver of the ambulance, 22-year-old Ethan Deweese of Pikeville, suffered injuries in the crash, along with an EMT, 41-year-old John Hurd of Sparta, who was riding in the back of the ambulance. Troopers charged Simpson with vehicular homicide, attempted vehicular homicide and three counts of reckless endangerment.
