CROSSVILLE MAN PLEDS GUILTY TO ROBBING THREE BANKS IN EAST TN
In March 2020, a Crossville man robbed three different banks in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Robert Z. Whipple, III, 50 robbed one bank each day from March 5 to March 7 in 2020, taking almost $7,000. According to the District Attorney, the release says that Whipple was apprehended on March 7, 2020, at a Red Roof Inn in Knoxville. The police found over $4,000 in cash and items that he used to commit the robberies, including a wig and demand note.
Robert Whipple pled guilty to three counts of bank robbery. He was sentenced to 70 months in prison and then three years of supervised release and will be required to pay restitution to the victims.
