CROSSVILLE MAN SCAMMED FOR $2,000
Yesterday, Deputy Devyne Templeton was dispatched to the Justice Center’s lobby and met with a complainant who said he had received several calls from an unknown phone number claiming to be a collection agency.
The victim said the individual stated that he had a credit card balance of $2000 that needed to be paid or risk prosecution. After paying the company $2000, he noticed the transaction listed the company as MPR Collections Agency.
His bank (Regions) told the victim the charge was from a scam company and they required a police report for the victim to get his money back.
There are no current suspects.
