CROSSVILLE MAN THREATENS ANOTHER WITH MACHETE, THEN THROWS CINDER BLOCK THROUGH WINDOW

Police officers in Crossville recently responded to a home on the 200 block of Cook Road for a report of a male subject who threw a rock through a window.

The report states a female told authorities she returned home from a store to see 25-year-old Benjamin Journal Jackson of Crossville letting her dog off a lead in the front yard.

Jackson was asked to leave twice before the female went to the store. When she returned, the homeowner told her Jackson took her dog off her leash.

A man in the house, 26-year-old Christopher Allen Howell, came out to speak to Jackson but ran back inside after Jackson allegedly produced a machete and aggressively came at Howell. The arrest report states a witness told police Howell and Jackson got into an argument over a blanket inside the residence before Jackson obtained the machete.

A witness said Jackson approached the front door and attempted to kick it in.

When that failed, Jackson reportedly grabbed a concrete cinder block and threw it through a window of the residence.

The block hit a woman standing inside next to the window.

Jackson was arrested for reckless endangerment and vandalism.

A check revealed Howell was wanted on an outstanding warrant for domestic assault. He was taken to jail.
