CROSSVILLE MAN TO FACE MULTIPLE CHARGES IN COURT FOR RESISTING ARREST AND BLOOD DRAW
The Cumberland County General Sessions Court criminal court docket for Monday, June 8th, details four formal charges filed on April 28, 2026, against Ricky Dewayne Young by Officer Chrystal Massey. These charges stem from an incident on the night of April 27, 2026, when Sgt. Massey and Ptl. Ramson initiated a traffic stop on Mr. Young’s black Nissan Altima after he improperly exited a Buc-ee’s parking lot.
During the encounter, Mr. Young failed to maintain his lane, disregarded emergency signals for roughly 90 seconds, and initially refused to cooperate or exit his vehicle once stopped on Cook Road. Upon stepping out, he exhibited clear signs of intoxication, intentionally sabotaged an initial sobriety test, and was later found with receipts for alcohol and “magic mushroom” products.
After failing a subsequent round of field sobriety tests, he was arrested but became physically and verbally aggressive at the Cumberland County Justice Center and Cumberland Medical Center, resisting a court-ordered blood draw. As a result of the incident, Mr. Young faces charges of first-offense Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Evading Arrest, and Resisting Stop/Arrest/Search, alongside a citation for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
