CROSSVILLE POLICE AND FIRE CREWS TALK DOWN POTENTIAL I-40 OVERPASS JUMPER
A potentially fatal situation was diverted late Tuesday afternoon in Crossville. Police were called to the overpass bridge over I-40 and Highway 127 North around 5 PM for the report of a male subject who was threatening to jump off the bridge onto the busy interstate. City Fire Chief Mike Turner told 1057 News that both city officers and firefighters responded to the scene and successfully negotiated with the unidentified individual, talking him down from the bridge. The man was then transported by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center for evaluation.
