CROSSVILLE POLICE ARREST CONVICTED FELON ALLEGEDLY ARMED WITH GUN DURING TRAFFIC STOP
Crossville police stopped a vehicle on Main Street near Woodmere Mall last night for speeding. The routine stop quickly escalated when a passenger, 32-year-old Floyd Sherrell Humphrey, listed as homeless, allegedly attempted to hide a Highpoint .40 caliber handgun. Authorities quickly ordered Humphrey and other passengers to make their hands visible. One round matching others in the gun was found next to the car in the parking lot. Officers learned Humphrey is a convicted felon. He was arrested and taken to jail.
