CROSSVILLE POLICE BUST “HOVER BOARD” GANG

Police busted a gang of “hover board” thieves Sunday at Crossville’s Obed Plaza. Disptach reported that an African-American female had left Walmart carrying several hover boards that she failed to pay for. Officers were told that the woman had entered a gold Pontiac with Arkansas tags and left the scene heading toward Highway 127 North. The vehicle in question was discovered shortly afterward still parked at Walmart and the suspect was observed walking and talking on a cell phone and was being followed by an African-American male. The suspected female was detained while the man and another African-American woman attempted to flee the scene. They were apprehended at Cato’s. Upon investigation, multiple boxes of hover boards were observed inside of the car. A total of 9 hoverboards were confiscated: 5 came from the Crossville store, 3 came from another Walmart and 1 came from an undisclosed location. A K-9 Officer hit on the possible presence of drugs in the car and a search turned up an amount of crack-cocaine and marijuana. Charged in the incident were 30-year-old Tashika Sade Higgins and 19-year-old Alex Kianta Sims, both from Little Rock, Arkansas. Higgins and Sims face theft and drug charges. The third female was released.
