CROSSVILLE POLICE CHARGE INDIVIDUAL WITH AUTO THEFT

A Crossville man has been charged with theft of a vehicle. Officers observed a tan colored Mercury Grand Marquis which had been reported as stolen, traveling on Miller Ave. The vehicle was followed from the Martin Elementary School parking lot onto Stanley Street and was stopped at Cumberland Apartments. The driver, 42-year-old Donathon Leon Herron, was ordered out of the vehicle and taken into custody. Herron reportedly told officers that the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend who was notified that the vehicle had been recovered. However a duffel bag with clothes and makeup, a hydraulic jack and Kenwood sub-woofer were found missing from the car. Herron was also charged with vandalism and driving on a suspended license.
