Flags are at half-staff this morning at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department and Crossville Police Department for a fallen officer.

Crossville Police Department Investigator Jason Wilson passed away this morning following a medical episode. He was 40-years-old.

Wilson graduated last month from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Fire and Codes Academy.

He served the City of Crossville for 12 years starting as a patrolman and worked his way up to detective. He previously worked with the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

Jason served the City of Crossville with honor and everything he had. He will be missed greatly by his family and fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Funeral services will be announced at a later time.
