Officers say 911 dispatchers in Cumberland County received multiple calls Friday for a driver in a blue Chevrolet Blazer driving recklessly. The motorist was driving on the wrong side of the road, almost striking several oncoming vehicles head-on.

Crossville police responded quickly and reportedly observed the motorist, 47-year-old John Dallas Brown of Monterey, cross over the center line.

The report states after police activated their emergency lights and sirens, Brown continued for several moments.

Brown finally stopped on Pinewood Drive.

The officer knew Brown from previous experience and encounters.

A consent search of the vehicle revealed a syringe in the passenger seat.

Brown allegedly admitted to using heroin.

He was arrested for driving under the influence.
