Crossville Police answered a call at a Taylor St. home late Thursday for an assault involving a knife. According to officers, they met Donald Carter who had blood all over his body. Carter said that he heard what appeared to sound like a fight next door, and when he investigated, he found 25-year-old Mark Williams and 60-year-old Robert Bivens in a scuffle. Bivens later told police that he had heard Williams and a female arguing and when he went to see what was happening, Williams knocked a beer from Biven’s hand. Bivens then said he drew his pocket knife out of fear for his life. Both Carter and Bivens told police that Williams had struck them. Williams had already left the scene and was later found at the hospital’s Emergency Room being treated for a cut to the rib cage. Williams was charged with aggravated assault.
